Want to find out about your government? Whether you have a school paper to do, or you'd just like to expand your knowledge, the links below should help get you started. As always, if there's a page you think our users could benefit from, please fill out the form below!

U.S. Government Links 

Executive Branch

  • White House - Feel like e-mailing the President? Maybe you'd like up-to-date info on what's going on in the capitol. Warning: this is a very political place! Useful things included like direct access to Federal Services, interactive citizen's handbook and White House documents, history, and tour info. 

Legislative Branch

  • U.S. Senate - Find out about Senate history, art, current bills, past bills, issues on the floor. The best part is you can connect with your Senator (If you know who they are! If not, now is a good time to find out!)
  • U.S. House of Representatives - Official government site, listing House office websites, House operations, and House Directories.
  • Congress- Capital Directory, find your Reps, write to Congress, vote spotlights, bill status search, and they have something neat called Scorecard - shows how Congressman stand up to prominent national associations like the Christian Coalition or the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.

Judicial Branch 

  • The Federal Judiciary Homepage - The webpage of the courts, you'll find press releases, The Third Branch - the monthly newsletter of the Federal Courts, publications & directories, court links to your District Court and employment opportunities.

State Government

  • Maryland -
  • Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Pennsylvania's official state website. Includes vital links to searchable Commonwealth websites and information on all of the Governor's programs.
  • West Virginia - Colorfully laid out, easy to navigate, lots of information and WV links includes state website of the month.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Transportation - PennDot's website. Includes Regional Information, Driver & Vehicle Services, General Information, etc.
  • No Calls Please - Pennsylvania has joined a number of other states in passing a "Do Not Call" law. As a result, Pennsylvanians now have the option to eliminate many of these calls by placing their names on a statewide "Do Not Call" list. Follow this link to find out how to stop telemarketers from calling you.
